1. Scope and operator

RoomLogic.org is responsible for the processing described here. A reader currently cannot create a public account, leave a comment, buy a product, or subscribe to a RoomLogic newsletter on the site.

A link may take you away from RoomLogic. After you follow it, the other site’s privacy policy applies, so read it before giving that site information about yourself.

2. Information we process

When a page opens, the companies responsible for hosting, security, and measurement receive the technical details of the request. Depending on the service, this may be an IP address, browser and device type, language, approximate region, the page that sent you, the address of the page opened, the time of the request, and records of errors or security events.

If you write to RoomLogic, we receive what you sent: a name, contact details, the text of the message, and possibly attached files or other information. Do not include confidential information if we can answer the question without it.

3. Why we use information

• Send the requested pages, images, and other files to the browser
• Filter out harmful traffic, investigate errors, and protect RoomLogic
• Understand how the site works and which sections readers use as a whole
• Read messages and reply to them
• Meet legal requirements and make or defend lawful claims

4. Legal bases

In some countries, the law requires a legal basis to be identified for each way personal data is handled. Depending on the circumstances, RoomLogic relies on a legitimate interest in operating, protecting, and improving an editorial site, consent for optional technologies, the need to answer your request, or a legal obligation.

The appropriate basis depends on the information involved, why it is used, and the law in force where you are.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

RoomLogic has no reader sign-in, so there is no account cookie. However, the companies that provide hosting, security, analytics, and advertising may use cookies or similar identifiers for their part of the work.

If a consent panel appears, you can use it to accept or reject optional technologies and change the decision later. Cookies can also be blocked and deleted in the browser. Blocking information that is strictly necessary may prevent some features from working properly.

There is no single industry rule for the “Do Not Track” signal. The response therefore depends on the service that receives it.

6. Google Analytics and Google AdSense

Google Analytics helps answer the questions a publication normally asks: which pages are read, where readers come from, and whether the site is working properly. To prepare its reports, Google may receive page addresses, an IP address, approximate location, browser and device information, the source of the visit, the time of the visit, actions on the page, and identifiers from cookies or similar technologies.

Advertising on RoomLogic is shown through Google AdSense. Google and other third-party vendors may place cookies in the browser and read them. When serving and measuring ads, they may also use web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers.

Advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to select ads with earlier visits to RoomLogic and other sites in mind. The same signals are needed to serve and measure advertising, avoid repeating it too often, and detect fraud. If your settings and consent permit this, the advertising may be personalized.

Information collected through Analytics and AdSense is handled by Google under its own terms and privacy rules. RoomLogic does not intentionally give Google data that points directly to a particular person, such as a name or email address.

Personalized Google advertising can be managed in Ads Settings. A Google browser add-on is available for limiting Google Analytics. The browser’s normal settings for blocking and deleting cookies also continue to work.

If the law requires consent, RoomLogic asks for it before Google and its advertising partners use optional storage or before they collect, share, or use personal data for personalized advertising. The choice can later be changed or withdrawn through the available consent control.

7. Service providers and disclosure

Not every technical part of RoomLogic runs on our own systems. Outside companies help with hosting, content delivery, security, analytics, advertising, and administration. A provider receives information in connection with its task and acts under its own duties and agreements.

Sometimes information has to be disclosed in order to comply with the law, protect readers or the site, investigate abuse, or reorganize the project. We do not publish personal correspondence without permission unless the law requires it.

8. Social sharing and external links

The sharing buttons in articles are external links to Pinterest, Facebook, Reddit, and similar services. Nothing is sent through a RoomLogic account. After a button is selected, the browser opens the chosen service and gives it the article address together with the usual details of a web request. The rules of that service apply from then on.

9. Retention

There is no single period for all information. Server and security logs are kept for as long as the work requires, taking into account the settings of the relevant provider. Correspondence may remain with us while we handle a request and for a reasonable time after we reply. Sometimes the law requires longer storage. Backup copies disappear during the normal overwrite cycle rather than being deleted one message at a time.

10. International processing and security

Some companies that keep RoomLogic working operate in several countries at once. Information may therefore be processed outside the country where you live. If special safeguards are needed for such a transfer, the relevant provider must use the measures required by law or contract.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. But no site can promise absolute security for every data transfer and every storage system.

11. Your choices and rights

Rights concerning personal data vary from country to country. Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or further information about the processing. You may also have the right to object to a particular use, withdraw consent, or contact a local data-protection or consumer-protection authority.

12. Children’s privacy

RoomLogic is a publication about homes and design for a general audience, not a children’s service. We do not knowingly ask children to provide personal data. If a parent or guardian believes that a child sent us such information, they may ask us to review and delete it.

13. Changes and contact

If RoomLogic services or privacy requirements change, we will revise this Policy. The date at the beginning of the page identifies the current version. We will announce a material change in an appropriate place on the site.
